Viveka murder accused allowed to attend father's funeral

ANANTAPUR: The Telangana High Court on Friday granted interim bail to Sunil Yadav, accused in the murder of former minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy.

The bail came following Yadav’s plea informing the court about the death of his father Krishnaiah due to cancer. Sunil Yadav, who is accused number 2 in the five-year-old murder case, sought through his counsel bail to attend his father’s funeral in Pulivendula area of Kadapa district.

He is currently in judicial remand at Chanchalguda prison in Hyderabad along with other accused.

Following the plea, the TS High Court granted Sunil Yadav bail to attend the funeral of his father as well as the last rites on September 9 and September 10. The accused has also been granted permission to attend the traditional offerings to the deceased father on September 17 and September 18.

The High Court, however, directed that the accused should bear the entire expenditure, including of police escort personnel, to travel to Pulivendula from the Hyderabad prison.

The court has reserved its decision over Sunil Yadav’s plea for full-pledged bail.
