Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government is revolutionising the Stamps and Registration system by introducing advanced technology for its functioning in electronic system mode. The aim is to provide quick, transparent and quality services. The government aims to make registration services available at the doorsteps of the people.
Officials urged the public not to believe in rumours about e-stamping and online registration services. The registration documents generated through the registration department website have full legal protection under the Information Technology Act - 2000.
Officials said the stamps and registration services are currently available in online mode. A much-easier registration system is being introduced by taking advantage of latest technologies like Card Prime software, e-stamping and providing registration services in Village / Ward Secretariats.
As a pilot project, these services are available in 23 sub registrar offices. The new system would soon be implemented in such offices across the state.
Some 1,680 village/ward secretariats were upgraded as sub registrar offices in the first phase of the initiative. This process would soon be extended to all village/ward secretariats.
Officials stated that the registration process through Card Prime became easy as it has a facility to submit the registration documents in online mode from now. The applicants can prepare their own documents, calculate the registration charges themselves and pay it online through Card Prime application.
There is the facility to book convenient registration slots with quick completion of the registration process and extra security to the documents because of the e-sign facility.
Automatic mutation soon after registration of agricultural lands is possible. Eradication of forged and duplicate documents is possible due to the introduction of the latest technology. The registration process would become speedy through e-stamping. The stamp duty and other charges can be paid online, officials said.
The e-stamping services have put an end to artificial scarcity of stamps as also the eradication of fake stamps and ante-dated stamps.
E-stamping services can be availed at branches of the Stock Holding Corporation (SHCL) or from stamp vendors or at Common Service Centres (CSC). E-stamps can be purchased from 2500 centres across the state.
The Registration services in Village/Ward Secretariats is a big boon as complete registration services are made available in the village/ward secretariats. This is unique to AP state.
