Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet on Wednesday decided to make Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) the consultant for the preliminary works of the Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode Light Metro projects subject to terms and conditions.
After getting the Centre’s permission, the DMRC would be appointed as the consultant of all the projects. A deputy collector or a sub divisional officer (revenue) will be entrusted with the job of acquiring land for the projects.
A decision has also been taken to allot enough employees for the project.
Almost 1.9893 hectare land and 1.4474 hectare land have to be acquired in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode, respectively. About 2.77 hectare land has to be acquired for developing a flyover for Thiruvananthapuram metro.
Administrative sanction for '272.84 crore to develop flyovers at Sreekariyam, Pattom, Ulloor will be given. The expenses will be funded by the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB).
