Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy praised Kunavaram sub-inspector B. Venkatesh for his valiant efforts in the rescue operations vis-à-vis the Godavari floods. He recommended to Alluri Sitarama Raju district collector Sumit Kumar to give him a police medal on the coming Independence Day.
As the CM arrived at Kunavaram village in ASR district on Monday to interact with the Godavari flood-hit people, locals and officials informed him that the sub-inspector showed exemplary courage while rescuing the flood- affected people.
The CM noticed the presence of the sub-inspector near him, and patted on his shoulders in appreciation of his services.
The CM was informed that sub-inspector Venkatesh helped rescue nearly 4,000 to 5,000 flood- affected people in last year’s Godavari floods at Kunavaram, too.
