Badvel municipal lands to be re-surveyed by 25 teams
KADAPA: The district administration is taking steps to solve the land issues within the Badvel municipality in this district, via surveys at the field level. A comprehensive exercise involving 25 teams will be undertaken by the Secretariat staff to address the long-standing land issues within the municipality.
Nearly 25,000 people in Badvel municipality are paying property taxes on houses and vacant sites. The government has found that about 13,000 of them are illegally occupying government lands.
The district revenue department is taking steps to ensure that justice is done to the land claimants and the real beneficiaries. This is done without resorting to land disputes, by checking for irregularities in the sale of lands, the government assigned lands, and change of hands of the claimant.
To this end, a comprehensive field survey will be conducted with teams led by Joint Collector (Revenue) Midde Gowthami and Rajampet sub-collector Ketan Garg, said district collector Chevuru Harikiran.
On Monday, the collector held a meeting with joint collectors Gowthami (revenue), Saikanth Verma (development), Rajampet sub-collector Ketan Garg and concerned revenue officials on the action to be taken on the issue of survey on occupied government lands.
The collector asked the local people to co-operate in this survey by the staff of the Secretariat. The meeting was attended by Badvel municipal commissioner Krishna Reddy, Badvel and Gopavaram tehsildars Srinivasulu Reddy and Ramanareddy, surveyors and other officials.
