R Balakrishna Pillai suspends Valakom victim Krishnakumar
Kollam: Krishnakumar, the school teacher who was attacked in the controversial Valakom case, was suspended from service by his school manager, R. Balakrishna Pillai, alleging submission of fake certificate. Mr. Pillai suspended the teacher alleging that the B. Ed certificate submitted by him at the school was fake,
In the suspension order dated June 2, it was pointed out that the certificate procured from Utkal University in Odisha was not recognised in Kerala. Krishnakumar was working with Ramavilasom VHSC owned by Kerala Congress leader R. Balakrishna Pillai and was attacked at the MLA junction near Valakom in September 2011.
An alleged Kerala Congress activist in 2011 had lodged a complaint questioning the authenticity of the certificate submitted by Mr. Krishnakumar. The then DEO verified the certificate following the petition and submitted a report that the certificate was genuine and valid.
Krishnakumar’s wife Geetha, who worked in the same school, has been under suspension for the last three years. The Kerala High Court on May 12 had ordered that she be reinstated as headmistress of the school, which has allegedly not been implemented yet.
