Hyderabad: Railway cracks down on unauthorised train vendors

SCR has undertaken continuous special drives against unauthorised hawkers all over the zone.

Hyderabad: Railway authorities booked a total of 9,069 cases of unauthorised hawking and levied fines amounting to Rs 1.15 crore from April 2017 to May 2018.

With an aim to curb the menace of the unauthosised sale of eatables, beverages etc in trains and to closely monitor catering services, the SCR has undertaken continuous special drives against unauthorised hawkers all over the zone. A special drive was conducted on Monday under the direction of M.G. Sekharam, principal chief commercial manager, and the SCR along with officers of the commercial department, ticket checking staff and the protection force personnel.
