MP M K Raghavan seeks package for Gulf returnees

Nearly 1.5 lakh Indians returned last year alone.

KOZHIKODE: Kozhikode MP, M.K. Raghavan on Friday requested the Parliament in a submission, to declare rehabilitation package for the returnees from Saudi Arabia, who are coming back followed by the Amnesty declared in the Arab country. He informed the House during the Zero Hour. “The government should be ready to declare a financial package needed for the non-resident Indians, coming back from Saudi Arabia, after an Amnesty was declared there. This is an opportunity for them to return and the government should help them in need.

Nearly 1.5 lakh Indians returned last year alone. The Foreign Minister should directly contact the embassy, and help the returnees with travel documents and other emergency care for their safe return,” the MP said. He added that the Air India should provide support to bring the Indians who are eligible to return under the Amnesty. He also called called for a committee under MoS, Foreign Affairs, consisting of MPs and top officials, to monitor the process.
