Maldives president Abdulla Yameen in Thiruvananthapuram on private visit

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: President of the Republic of Maldives Abdulla Yameen came down on a two-day private visit to the city on Thursday. Mr. Yameen, accompanied by his family including wife and children, visited two private clinics — a dermatology clinic at Pattom and a Homoeo allergy clinic at Killipalam.

While the official spokesperson of the dermatology centre said that the President and his family came down for a visit and not for any consultation, sources at the Homoeo centre said that details of the visit could not be revealed.

Mr. Yameen, who came by an Air India flight, was received by a team led by general administration secretary K R Jyothilal. The president was also accompanied by a Maldivian delegation. He is staying at a hotel in the city and held informal talks with officials of the Maldivian consulate here. Mr. Yameen is scheduled to return on Friday.
