Budget allocation for education not enough, say teachers

Telangana State United Teachers Federation (TSUTF) urged the government to allocate more funds for the development of state-run schools

Hyderabad: Teachers' associations have stated that the allocation of funds in the Budget for the education sector was not enough.

Telangana State United Teachers Federation (TSUTF) urged the government to allocate more funds for the development of state-run schools. The federation claimed that despite announcing Rs 3,497 crore outlay for 'Mana Ooru-Mana Badi' scheme for infrastructure development in 9,123 schools in this year's Budget speech, no allocation of funds was seen.

The Telangana Progressive Teachers Federation (TPTF) stated that though the size of the Budget was growing every year, the same rise is not being seen in allocations to the education sector. It stated that the low allocation would make it difficult for students to get free education, and would also affect higher education.
