Vishnupriya death case: CBI seeks 4 more months to complete probe
Chennai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a petition in the Madras high court to grant four months to complete the investigation into the death of DSP Vishnupriya, found dead allegedly under mysterious circumstances on September 18, 2015, at her residence in Tiruchengode taluk in Namakkal district.
In his petition, T.Rajah Balaji, superintendent of police, CBI, Special Crime Branch, submitted that the case relating to the unnatural death of R.Vishnupriya, working as DSP in Tiruchengode, was found hanging in her bedroom of the camp office on September 18, 2015, was transferred to CBI by this court on July 1, 2016. Subsequently, the state government filed a SLP and the Supreme Court dismissed the same on October 24, 2016.
In compliance to the order of this court, the CBI re-registered the case on November 11, 2016, and took up the same for inquiry.
