Bihar MP zooms in on her Harley Davidson to Parliament
New Delhi: Ranjeet Ranjan, the Congress Lok Sabha MP from Bihar, gave onlookers and the Parliament shutterbugs a pleasant surprise as she rode a black and orange Harley Davidson bike to Parliament on International Women’s Day.
Wearing a crisp blue kurta, matched up with a stole with green hues, the MP exuded confidence as she zoomed into the Parliament premises on the bike that most men dream to own. Photographers had a field day clicking away, as she smiled through her black sunglasses and helmet.
The 39-year-old was elected from Supaul in Bihar and is known to be an outspoken and bold politician. Ranjan is married to Pappu Yadav, who is also a Lok Sabha MP. Ranjeet says she does not let her husband ride her bike and had bought it with her own salary.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said his government would see to it that all women lawmakers get a chance to speak in the Parliament on International Women's Day.
The Lok Sabha this time saw the highest number of lawmakers being elected, 66 members of the lower House are women.
