Hyderabad: Ten Group-I officers from Telangana, five from non-state civil services (NCS) quota and five from state civil services (SCS) quota,
are all set to be conferred with the IAS. The Centre's department of personnel and training (DoPT) is expected to issue orders in a day or two, said official sources.
It is learnt that K. Ashok Reddy, who is personal secretary of finance minister T. Harish Rao and TSIIC vice-chairman and managing director E. Venkat Narasimha Reddy are among those who are being conferred with IAS.
The others are J. Arunasri, A. Nirmala Kanthi Wesley, Kota Srivastava, C. Priyanka, B. Chandrashekar, K. Haritha, E. Naveen Nicholas
and P. Katyayini Devi, it is learnt.
The state government has sent a list of 25 senior Group-I officers who are eligible for conferment of IAS status. While Group-I offices from SCS quota (those working in state revenue services) will be conferred IAS directly by the Centre based on their seniority, those from NCS quota (working in non-revenue services) have to attend personal interviews to be conducted by UPSC for selection.
The UPSC conducted interviews for NCS for two days in the last week of January.
