Leaders have role in murder, says CPM secretary P S Suman
KOLLAM: CPM Anchal area secretary P.S. Suman, jailed in the Anchal Ramabhadran murder case, has revealed the role of local CPM leaders in the killing. In his bail plea before the Kerala High Court, he also levelled serious allegations against Kerala State Cashew Development Corporation chairman S. Jayamohan accusing him conspiring to tarnish the image. Mr Ramabhadran was the vice-president of Yeroor Congress (I) Committee when killed in April 2010.
In his bail plea, Mr Suman, claims he was “implicated not on the strength of evidence but due to the extraneous influence exerted by Mr Jayamohan who is the accused number 21 in the case, as part of a secret deal between him and the investigation officer.” He conspired with the first accused Gireesh, second accused Padman, who was the CPM local committee secretary, and 6th accused Rajeev, the party's branch secretary, to arraign him, Suman alleged.
Mr Ramabhadran of Sree Rama Chandra Vilasam, Nettayam, was hacked to death at home on April 10, 2010. Based on a petition filed by his wife V.S. Bindu in the High Court, the case was handed over to the CBI in January 2016. The incidents that led to the murder took place over a dispute between the first accused Gireesh and Mr Ramabhadran over a procession in a local temple in Anchal.
