Visakhapatnam: The workers from Vizag Steel Plant led by the Visakha Ukku Porata Committee embarked on a car rally to Vizianagaram on Monday. Their primary demand was the reinstatement of sand and Manganese mines to RINL.
Upon arrival, they marched to the mine office and voiced their protest. The leaders highlighted the leasing of Garbham and Saripalli mines in 1982 for 40 years by the state government, urging the immediate renewal of the mines' lease by the AP government. The protest culminated in a car rally from the steel plant gate to Mayuri Junction in Vizianagaram, symbolising their opposition to the government's decisions.
