Take Steps for Smooth Conduct of Mini-Medaram Jatara: Collector

KARIMNAGAR: District collector Pamela Satpathy ordered the officials of various departments concerned to make elaborate arrangements for the smooth conducting of the Mini-Medaram Jatara to be held at 16 various places from February 21 to 24 across the Karimnagar district.

At a review meeting held at the collectorate on Monday, the collector directed the officials to prepare proposals regarding the works to be taken up at the 16 places, especially at Rekurthy near Housing Board Colony in Karimnagar and at Keshavapatnam and Huzurabad, where the Sammakka and Saralamma Jatara will be held on a grand note.

Facilities like drinking and temporary toilets and sanitation, uninterrupted power supply, temporary medical camps with medicine and ambulances must be provided along with the setting up of separate queue lines for women on the premises of the temples.

The officials were told to release water into the canals during Jatara for the devotees to take a holy dip and deploy lifeguards and police security to prevent any untoward incidents.

Additional collector Praful Desai, assistant commissioner of endowments Chandrasekhar, RDO K. Maheshwar, Excise officer Srinivas Rao, chief engineer of Mission Bhagiratha Amarendar, rural water supply SE Ram Kumar, fire officer Venkanna and DMHO Dr Lalitha Devi were present.
