Haryana Guv Dattatreya Tells Telugu CMs to Promote Telugu Language in Primary Level
Kakinada: Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya has urged the Chief Ministers of the Telugu speaking states to impart education in the mother-tongue to students at the primary level.
This, he said, is in accordance with the New Education Policy announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Dattatreya participated in international Telugu conference on its third day on Sunday, in virtual mode. He said the policy would be in effect till 2030 and primary education should be in mother-tongue only. “Then only can the mental growth of the children be facilitated. Subsequently, they would be able to grasp all subjects.”
He said when the Telugu Maha Sabhalu was held in Bhimavaram last year, he participated in those conferences. The people of Telugu- speaking states as well as from other parts of the country are imbibing our culture and heritage along with our mother-tongue.”
He said that such a huge language-wealth had never been experienced across the world. “The Telugu Mahasabhalu at Rajanagaram are dedicated to Rajaraja Narendrudu and Adikavi Nannayya as both the prominent persons completed the 1000 years of an oath as ‘King’ and wrote Mahabharata in Telugu.”
Nagaland Governor La Ganeshan Iyer exhorted the Telugu people to speak and write in Telugu and even sign in Telugu.
“To mark this international Telugu conference, everyone should speak in Telugu in their houses and also with their relatives and friends. Telugu and Tamil languages are spoken in many areas in Tamil Nadu,” he said.
He said that in areas like Sivakasi, the people spoke only in Telugu.
High court judge Justice U Durga Prasada Rao said the mother-tongue would increase the values and moral ethics among the people. High court judge Justice Akula Venkata Sesha Sai said everyone should protect their culture and mother-tongue. Otherwise, if these vanished, their significance also would vanish.
The Telugu Conferences concluded on the third day on Sunday. Minister M Nagarjuna, cine actor and AP electronic media adviser Ali, lyric writer J Ramalinga Sastry and others greeted Gajal Srinivas and other organisers at the Telugu conferences.
Gajal Srinivas said the next international Telugu conference would be held in Amaravathi. Academician KVV Satyanarayana Raju was conferred with Abhinava Rajarajanarendra award.
