Coca-Cola to invest Rs 3,000 cr in Telangana

Hyderabad: Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd (HCCB) has announced that it will invest Rs 3,000 crore in Telangana. Leading a senior-level delegation of HCCB, Himanshu Priyadarshi, chief of Public Affairs, Communications, & Sustainability (PACS), met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday and briefed him about the company's expansion plans in Telangana, highlighting the ongoing greenfield project at Bandatimmapur in Siddipet district.

The HCCB delegation assured the Chief Minister that they will continue to contribute to the development of the region. In response, the Chief Minister extended the full support of the state government promised a conducive environment for the company's operations and growth.

Coca-Cola, through its fully-owned bottling company in India — Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), currently operates a big plant in Ameenpur. Back in 2020, The HCCB invested Rs 142 crore for the expansion of this facility. In line with their expansion strategy, a greenfield plant is currently underway in Siddipet district, as per the MoU signed between HCCB and the state government on April 7, 2022. This new venture entails a committed investment of Rs 1,000 crore.

The HCCB has affirmed an additional investment of Rs 647 crore for the installation of new production lines in the under-construction plant. The project is expected to be completed by December 2024.

Looking ahead, the HCCB envisions a second greenfield manufacturing facility of a comparable scale in the Karimnagar-Warangal region. Once established, Coca-Cola's cumulative investments in manufacturing capacities are projected to surpass the Rs 3,000 crore mark. This notable expansion of manufacturing capacities stands out as one of the swiftest undertaken by Coca-Cola in recent times.
