Anantapur team wins all-India U-17 girls' football cup

Anantapur: Anantapur Sports Academy (ASA) lifted the Inspire Cup on Sunday defeating Compassion FC 3-0 in the finals of the U-17 girls football tournament for spotting budding female talents across India.

ASA had hosted the all-India tournament in collaboration with FUNDACION La Liga.

Total 144 players from eight teams – Compassion FC (Goa), Liberty Ladies (Tamil Nadu), Life Sports (Tamil Nadu), Naandi (Gujarat), Gujarat Sports School (Gujarat), Anantapur Sports Academy (AP), Mahila Jan Adhikar Samiti (Rajasthan) and Anantapur United (Andhra Pradesh) – participated in the third edition of the tournament.

Compassion FC had emerged champions in the first two editions of the Inspire Cup.

India’s nutrition brand Fast&Up was the nutrition partner of the tournament, along with the prize money partner Bank of Baroda.

Speaking on the occasion, ASA director Sai Krishna Pulluru said, “We are very happy to see the energetic performances of the teams during the tournament. We hope to add new teams in the next tournament.”
