Akhil Bharatha Kisan Sabha Calls for Renewed Agitations

Kakinada: Calling out "anti-people policies" of both the central and state governments, Akhil Bharatha Kisan Sabha (ABKS) national president Ravula Ankayya has urged farmers and citizens to mobilise for further agitations.

Speaking at the Sabha's general body meeting in Rajamahendravaram on Monday, Ankayya cited the successful farmer-led movement against the controversial farm laws as an example of collective action's power.

He emphasised that the participation of 450 farmer associations, coupled with support from the Supreme Court, United Nations, and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi's eventual withdrawal of the laws, proves the effectiveness of united resistance.

Ankayya further highlighted growing opposition to reforms from 11 states, including Uttar Pradesh, regarding the power sector and implementation of smart meters. This demonstrates widespread discontent with the government's agenda, prompting the Sabha to organize a farmer procession from the Municipal Stadium to Godavari Bund, showcasing their resolve.
