AP JAC meet highlights demands not being met

Anantapur: The three-day state-level annual plenary of AP JAC concluded in Kurnool on Sunday.

Speaking to media on the occasion, AP JAC Amaravati convener Bopparaju Venkateswarlu said the state government has failed in solving the long-pending issues of employees during the past three and a half years.

“The Chief Minister had promised to cancel CPS and implement OPS for government employees in Andhra Pradesh. But he has not done it,” he observed. As a result, all pending dues of government employees have not been cleared. Further, employers and pensioners have been unable to receive salary or pensions on the 1st of every month for past two years, he pointed out.

Bopparaju Venkateswarlu observed that neighbouring states are regularising contract employees, while in AP, it has not been done. He protested that whenever finance and non-financial issues are raised during meetings with representatives of state government, they get postponed every time.

The JAC convener maintained that if the same situation continues in future, they will announce an action plan in their next state-level meeting in February.
