THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is no secret that J Jayalalithaa rarely used to hold press conferences or give interviews to media. But whenever she visited Kerala the AIADMK supremo used to oblige the local media persons. While speaking to media persons here, her favourite topic used to be DMK corruption and Mullaperiyar dam and on most occasions she had enough time to field questions of journos. In 2010, AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa stopped briefly at the Thiruvananthapuram airport on her way to Kanyakumari district.
A group of media persons waved at her and the motorcade stopped. At that time the 2G Spectrum case was at its peak. No wonder then she lashed out at K. Karunanidhi; “The probe will reach Karunanidhi’s doorsteps. DMK has always been perceived as a corrupt party. The scam to the extent of one lakh eighty thousand crores is unheard of anywhere in world history,” she said. Whether in government or in opposition, Jayalalithaa always took a firm stand on Mullaperiyar issue.
