Two newborn girls dumped; one rescued, other dead
Hyderabad: A newborn girl was found abandoned in a garbage dump in Ramanthapur. In another incident a newborn girl was found dead in the bushes in Suryapet district on Sunday morning.
Police said the baby found wrapped in clothes could have been born a couple of hours before she was abandoned by her parents, who threw her in a garbage dump on Patel Nagar street in Venkat Reddy Nagar in Ramanthapur.
Morning walkers heard the baby crying and alerted the 108 service. An ambulance rushed to the spot within minutes. After giving first aid to the baby they took her to Niloufer hospital where she is now under observation. Doctors said her condition is stable. Uppal police registered a case. In Suryapet town, a newborn girl was found dead in the bushes on the banks of Saddula Cheruvu.
When some women went to the lake to relieve themselves they found the body. Rats were gnawing on her left hand. Police registered a case. Cops think the baby was born two days ago. They started an inquiry in hospitals nearby.
