Boon for fishers as KUFOS adopts Azheekal village
Their products will be made available through the centres of Alappuzha Diocese Society (ADS).
Alappuzha: Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) has adopted Azheekal village at Andhakaranzhy here with the intention of improving life standards of fisher folk. Dr M.S. Raju, Dean, Bio Technology, KUFOS who declared it officially on Friday said as per the project, as many as 100 women from the community would be given training in processing dry fish.
Their products will be made available through the centres of Alappuzha Diocese Society (ADS). KUFOS also distributed processing equipment to women. The project is being implemented with the support of ADS, Dr Raju said.
