Food projects on menu for seminar in Perambra
KOZHIKODE: A development seminar will be organised on Saturday in connection with the ‘Perambra Assembly Constituency Development Mission 2025’ to bring out a detailed plan for the all round development of the constituency, excise minister T.P. Ramakrishnan, who is also legislative member from the constituency said in a press conference. A set of programmes including paddy cultivation in 1,500 acre Kole land, and an agro-based food park are under the consideration of the Perambra development mission.
A detailed project report for the Food Park will be submitted to the finance minister on Saturday during the seminar at Perambra Higher Secondary School. Finance minister T.M. Thomas Isaac will inaugurate the development seminar. Minister for agriculture V.S. Sunil Kumar will deliver the keynote address. The seminar will also discuss effective methods to upgrade Avala Government Higher Secondary School and Meppayoor Government Vocational Higher Secon-dary schools into centres of excellence. Both the schools are sanctioned '2 crore for infrastructure development.
“We have succeeded in introducing a set of developmental projects for Perambra in just four months,” said the minister. Career guidance centre will start functioning at Perambra mini civil station and government ITI will start functioning at Muthukat from November, he said. The plan is to covert the Kole paddy lands Avalappandy and Karuvode Chira, those have been remaining uncultivated for nearly 30 years will be converted into faddy fields. Organic farming will be promoted in the area.
Congress set to boycott meeting
The Youth Congress in Perambra has called for boycotting the seminar on Perambra Constituency Development Mission 2025 to be organised at Perambra Higher Secondary School on Saturday. The call for boycott comes after the seminar to be presided over by Perambra MLA and minister T.P. Ramakrishnan, omitted the name of Vadakara MP Mullappally Ramachandran.
Congress leaders also allege that the seminar centres around Subiksha, that allegedly faces a Vigilance enquiry. They said that the development programme for a particular region was not centred around a particular party and involvement of all political parties was mandatory. “The main agenda of the programme is the inauguration of Subiksha food park.
