Visakhapatnam: The low-pressure area over northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal off south Odisha-north AP coasts has become less marked.
However, the associated cyclonic circulation lay over the south interior Odisha and its neighbourhood and extends up to 7.6km above the mean sea level, tilting south-westwards with significant height.
The weather office said, “The monsoon trough now passes through Bikaner, Guna, Mandla, Raipur, Kalingapattanam and thence south-eastwards to the west-central Bay of Bengal and extends up to 2.1km above mean sea level.”

On September 6, the NTR district rainfall (in mm) at Paleru Bridge was 63.4, Chodavaram 52.4, at Atchampet 50.6, at Veeraghattam 48.4, at Parvathipuram 45.8 and Gantyada 39.2.
For Sept 7, the prediction is, “Light to moderate rain or thundershowers likely at many places. Thunderstorms are likely in one or two places. Strong winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40km per hour.
