Kerala: Bumper crop from ministers' residences

Red spinach, ladies finger and long beans were handed over to the officials of Karshika Karma Sena.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The harvesting of vegetables cultivated at the official residence of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and agriculture and revenue ministers’ houses yielded bumper crop on Tuesday. The residue vegetables from the ministers’ houses found a place at the Karshika Karma Sena's Eco-Shop at Kudapanakunnu Krishi Bhavan office in the city. The harvest was collected first from Cliff House which was attended by the CM's family members, including his wife Kamala Vijayan and daughter Veena.

Red spinach, ladies finger and long beans were handed over to the officials of Karshika Karma Sena. Within minutes, the products were sold like hot cakes. Karshika Karma Sena officials informed that the money collected from the sale would be utilised for the second round of cultivation at all the ministers’ official residences. Red spinach produced from 'Grace', the official residence of V.S. Sunil Kumar, Agriculture Minister, were also lapped up by the consumers who visited the Eco-Shop. The produce from Revenue Minister E. Chandrasekharan's organic vegetable garden were also put on sale.
