Pawan urges BJP and TD to stand by Malavalli farmers

VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has called for a “collective fight for our rights,” predicted a change of government in 2024 and urged Telugu Desam and BJP to support farmers to resolve their problems.

The JS leader interacted with displaced farmer families of Malavalli Industrial Zone on Sunday. He announced his support in the fight for their rights as also for fair prices for their agricultural produce.

“Industries must come and our youth need employment. But if injustice is done to the farmers, who give land to those industries, the Jana Sena party will not keep quiet about this. We will fight hard on behalf of every farmer who has been facing injustice.”

“The displaced farmers of Gannavaram Constituency, Mallavalli Industrial Estate met me when I was in Eluru during the Varahi yatra. When they sought compensation for their lands, one came to me with a broken neck and another with leg injuries, saying they had been attacked by the police. The blows on the backs of those farmers deeply touched my heart," said Pawan Kalyan.

He said, “The lands of Mallavalli farmers were taken away by the previous TD government. The farmers were treated unfairly. Like JS, the leaders of BJP and TD should also respond to the problem of farmers. Everything needs to be organised in ways that they get justice. There were those who gave lands to girls under Pasupu-Kumkuma. If they do not receive compensation, the girls are sent back to their homes. This becomes a social problem that causes chaos in families,” PK said.

Pawan Kalyan said, “Natural resources are not owned by anyone. “They are common property and, in the Constitution, no one has been given special rights. He pointed out that, in 2006, the government took 1400 acres of land to develop Mallavalli as an industrial town.”

At that time, the price was fixed at 17.6 lakh per acre and compensation was given to the farmers who lost their lands. “Not all of them have been compensated yet. These lands left by Nawab in Andhra have been cultivated by farmer families for three generations.”

Pawan stated, I have only one thing to say to the revenue officers and the police. Don't blindly implement the arbitrary decisions taken by the Council of Ministers or by the words of the people's representatives that are against the law. The government will change in 2024. Then don't fall prey to the mistakes made now during the reviews. You have to take responsibility for what you do. Use your powers for public good. When the government changes in 2024, we will focus exclusively on the problems of Malavalli farmers.”

Pawan added, “The government should think from a humanitarian perspective and support the farmers. Compensation should be given to them. The Jana Sena will not stand idle when the peacefully protesting farmers are attacked. We will fight to protect each and every brave woman and farmer.”

Pawan Kalyan visited Malavalli on Sunday to stand by the unfair farmers who did not receive compensation in Gannavaram Constituency, Bapulapadu Mandal under Mallavalli industrial land acquisition. The farmers complained about their hardships, their struggles, the way the public representatives acted, and the attacks by the police before Pawan Kalyan.
