Rajesh killing was brutal: Union Minister Arun Jaitley

Mr Jaitley also visited the family of Vishnu of Puthenpalam who was allegedly killed by the CPM earlier.

Thiruvananthapuram: Union Minister Arun Jaitley said that the RSS leader S. L. Rajesh was hacked to death with a brutality that even the army did not show enemy soldiers. He was addressing a memorial meeting held at Kallampally, Sreekaryam to pay homage to Rajesh. Earlier, Arun Jaitley visited Rajesh’s father Sudharshan, mother Lalitha Kumari, wife Reena and two children Adhithyan, a Class 1 student of Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom, and Abhishek, a LKG student of Government Lower Primary School in Kariyam.

“Don’t think the BJP can be suppressed with violence. Rajesh’s death was a sacrifice for the party whose life would become an inspiration to other members”, said Jaitley. “The CPM is attacking us because they are threatened by the kind of strength the party is gaining in Kerala”, said Arun Jaitley. He added that Rajesh belonged to the weaker section of society where his only “mistake” was to act according to his ideology, but not against anyone personally.

“This kind of violence will neither suppress ideology in Kerala nor will it be able to scare our workers. It will only increase their determination to work harder against those who are perpetuating this operation. Rajesh belonged to a poor family and now his family has no means of a livelihood”, added Arun Jaitley. He pointed out that if development had to be achieved, peace and stability were a prerequisite. Mr Jaitley also visited the family of Vishnu of Puthenpalam who was allegedly killed by the CPM earlier. He handed over financial assistance generated by the BJP NRI cell to the slain RSS worker’s mother. He also visited BJP councillors's homes which were destroyed by CPM workers, parents of Anil Kumar who was killed at Neyyatinkara and 35 other bereaved families.
