Youth Congress warns superstars against remaining mum
Thrissur: Malayalam superstars who are keeping silence on the actress abduction case will face the music when their films are screened if they fail to come out strongly in her support. Youth Congress secretary Shaun Pallissery, who led a protest march on the house of Amma president Innocent MP at Irinjalakuda on Thursday against his alleged sexist comments over casting couch, said they would take out protest marches to theatres where their films are released.
"There is an element of ethics, and when there were derogatory remarks from within the film fraternity, Innocent was giving comic replies, and the superstars keeping a telling silence," he said. YC members will also burn Innocent in effigy at its different units across Chalakudy Lok Sabha segment on Friday. "Young actor Parvathi, who had won state government award for the best actress, had come out in the open about the casting couch in Malayalam film industry. Instead of inquiring into such revelations, AMMA president tried to paint victims as 'bad women'," he added.
