Railway makes Emergency Quota procedure easy in Thiruvananthapuram division
Kochi: Submitting an Emergency Quota (EQ) application in the Thiruvananthapuram division will be all too easy for common man. All they have to do is to hand over the application to one of the top officials of a near-by station or mail the request to seniordcmtvc@gmail.com
“For those who are not well-versed with the mobile phone or computer, they may approach the Chief Reservation Supervisor or Deputy Station Manager/ commercial officer of the near-by station. The officials will relay the details to the Divisional Office for allotments as per priority. Passengers still can approach Area Manager’s Office at Ernakulam personally, who will transmit the details to Thiruvananthapuram for allotment,” a statement issued by the Thiruvananthapuram divisional authorities said.
The development comes soon after the Railways had stopped the allotment of EQ from the Ernakulam Area Manager's Office. “Passengers can also fax the EQ request to the following numbers — (0471) 2326482 and 2325639. The requests have to be sent 24 hours in advance. However they can send on any day including holidays. For trains starting up to 2 pm from the originating stations, the allotments are done on the previous day. For other trains, allotments are done six hours before the scheduled departure,” the statement said.
“For senior citizens, pregnant ladies etc, for changing upper and side berths to lower and inner berths, the helpline number 138 or email facility may be used along with ID proof,” it said.
