HYDERABAD: An unidentified person was found dead in Durgam Cheruvu in Madhapur on Saturday morning.
Madhapur police along with Durgum Lake Police are searching in Durgam pond. Later the Disaster Response Force (DRF) and lifesavers searched the lake but the body was not traced, Madhapur police said.
Police are still not sure whether the victim ended his life by suicide or accidentally fell from the cable bridge. The DRF teams were seen engaged in tracing the body till late in the night.
Shiva, a lifesaver, said that it takes at least 18 to 24 hours for the body to surface. "We are making efforts to trace the body. We were told by the people that the man deliberately jumped into the lake from the cable bridge and suspect that he might have ended his life," a police officer said.
