IMD issues yellow alert, thunderstorms and light rains likely

Hyderabad: Light rains with thunderstorms are on the cards for the state for the next two days. The IMD has issued a yellow alert cautioning that thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and winds gusting up to 40 kmph were likely at isolated places in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad and Jagtial districts.

The weather is being caused by a ‘trough discontinuity’ stretching central Madhya Pradesh to south Tamil Nadu and a cyclonic circulation over north interior Karnataka.

Over the next 48 hours, the city will have partly cloudy sky and light to moderate rains or thundershowers are very likely to occur towards the evening or night, probably after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s events here will be complete on Saturday.
