LDF rule helping Sangh forces: Porattam leader M N Ravunni

The progressive forces in Kerala have the responsibility of preventing such dangerous fallouts, he added.

KOCHI: The CPM-led Left Democratic Front government headed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s penchant for following a right wing agenda in matters of governance will only help the BJP-RSS combine and other rightist forces to spread their influence in the state, opined M.N. Ravunni, chairperson of Porattam, a pro-Maoist outfit. Speaking to this newspaper on Thursday, Mr Ravunni said the experience of the past nine months has shown that the policies pursued by the present government would only help the right-wing forces.

Condemning the police action against Mahija, mother of Jishnu Pranoy, the engineering student found dead in college hostel, Mr Ravunni said the Chief Minister giving a clean chit to cops is a clear sign of the “arrogance and idiocy” of the government. “Those at the helm of government are not even having the sensitivity to avoid such an embarrassment on the day marking the 60th anniversary of the formation of the first Communist government in the state,” hesaid. Calling for united action by all democratic forces against reckless functioning of the police and the anti-people policies of the Pinarayi government, Mr Ravunni pointed out that

“Whenever a Left party in power implemented a right-wing agenda the rightist forces take advantage of the resultant popular disgruntlement and make gains”. The progressive forces in Kerala have the responsibility of preventing such dangerous fallouts, he added. Prominent writer N.S. Madhavan in a twitter message said the DGP, who is getting stage fright and fear if he sees more than six persons should be asked to go on leave for undergoing counselling. Najmal Babu (T.N. Joy) another Left fellow traveller said, “he is ashamed of not even having a red cloth to hide his shame for supporting the CPM”.
