Chennai: The Royal Thai Embassy has issued an advisory asking businessmen in the country not to fall prey to a fraudulent online business scam by persons impersonating as Thai businessmen.
In a release, the Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi, has stated that the fake companies were targeting foreign businessmen declaring about non-existing business ventures in Thailand, resulting in massive financial losses on the foreigner's side.
The release added that if any company or supplier in India feels suspicious of any business activity or proposal of a company claiming to be ‘Thai Business’, the Royal Thai Embassy has advised the concern businessmen to contact the office of Commercial Affairs of Thailand, Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi (011-4326 8888), Thai Trade Centre, Commercial Section, Royal Thai Consulate, Chennai (044-6533 0790) or Thai Trade Centre, Royal Thai Consulate, Mumbai (022 2283 0242 &3). With the help of the staffs in Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi and its Consulate at Chennai and Mumbai, the businessmen can verify the validity, status and credibility of the businesses claiming to be from Thailand.
