VIJAYAWADA: South Central Railway’s Vijayawada division has bagged 10 shields, including the prestigious Overall General Manager’s Efficiency Shield, out of total 35 shields at the Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar – 2023 for excellence in various fields.
Vijayawada divisional railway manager (DRM) Narendra A. Patil congratulated all branch officers and staff for winning the GM’s Shields in various categories and performing exceptionally well by recording the highest ever revenue of ₹5,306.58 crore and achieving second highest incremental loading of 12.125 million tonnes in Indian Railways during financial year 2022–23.
The DRM said passenger safety, elimination of manned level crossings, fortifying the existing infrastructure, ramping up traffic facilities and laying of new lines will remain the top agenda and focus during FY 2023–24.
Of the 10 efficiency shields, Commercial has gone to Vijayawada division, Mechanical to Vijayawada and Secunderabad divisions jointly, Finance (Accounts) to Vijayawada division, Best Diesel / Electric Loco Shed to Vijayawada and Guntakal divisions jointly, Works to Vijayawada division, Bridges to Vijayawada division, Best Maintained DEMU / MEMU / EMU Shed to MEMU Car Shed, Rajahmundry, Best Loading Effort Shield to Vijayawada division, Operating to Vijayawada division and Signalling and Telecommunications to Vijayawada division.
Narendra Patil underlined that the GM's Efficiency Shield for Overall Best Performance has gone jointly to Vijayawada and Secunderabad divisions.
