PS says teachers must keep updating their skills
VIJAYAWADA: Principal secretary (Skill Development and Training) S. Suresh Kumar said teachers should keep improving their skills in keeping with changes taking place in the education sector.
“Good results can be achieved only through continuous training and revision,” he remarked on Tuesday at the Atal Faculty Development Programme being held at Dhanekula Institute of Engineering Technology in the suburbs of Vijayawada city.
Sponsored by All India Council of Technical Education, the programme themed "Advancement on VLSI Design and Fabrication from Theory to Practice" will continue till December 9.
Suresh Kumar wanted educational institutions and industry to become partners in developing the skills of teachers and improving the quality of college education. He emphasised that special workshops by industry experts and experienced academicians are essential ingredients of any faculty development programme.
The principal secretary said curriculum could be developed by integrating new technologies in existing courses with the help of industry experts and improving networking opportunities.
The senior officer inspected the Technology Business Incubator established in the college in collaboration with the Government of India and Dronix Laboratories.
College chairman Rabindranath Tagore, correspondent Bhavani Prasad and faculty members participated in the programme.
