COIMBATORE: Nine-year-old S V Naveen has his name etched in ‘India Book of Records’ for being “the youngest to randomly recall all days in year 2017 in the least time”. Tell Naveen a date in the year and in a jiffy he will reveal what day the particular date falls on.
His parents claim that they discovered the boy’s talent rather accidently. Ever since his parents were aware of their son's unique ability, they decided to motivate him to polish his unique skill. Without waiting any time, an application was made to the ‘India Book of Records’ and Navven is now a record holder in the category.
On November 1 evening, nine-year old Naveen who was accompanied by his father visited one of his friend’s home. The host invited him for his son’s birthday party and he made a mention of the date. Instantaneously, the boy questioned if that date fell on the particular day and much to the surprise of the host, the young boy was right. On their way back home, his father tested the ability of his son by quizzing him with many more dates in 2017. The young lad was able to recall the respective days effortlessly. On some occasions, the boy used his fingers to calculate the day.
“Once the application for the record was made, a judicator from the ‘India Book of Records’ visited Tirupur to witness the attempt; the judicator came prepared with the list of dates in 2017 and Naveen took just 25 minutes and 42 seconds to randomly recall all the 365 days. There is no previous record in the category and age.” E. K. Shaktivel, Naveen’s father said.
A shield, medal and certificate were handed over to Naveen and he will have his name along with the record he created, printed in a book that will be released next month.
