Hyderabad: Sreenidhi International School bans student

Meanwhile, Chethan's parents alleged that their child is being targeted and he cannot be punished for their action of informing the authorities.

Hyderabad: Parents of Chethan Chowdary, a 12-year-old student from Sreenidhi International School, Moinabad, have been issued a letter by the school management, stating that Chethan should not attend the classes till further notice.

The parents alleged that the management took this decision as a case was registered against the management under Section 82 of the JJ Act for harassment and corporal punishment.

Suresh Chowdary, Chethan’s father, said, “The letter clearly showed that the principal did not like us raising the matter with the police. Our son was mentally harassed by the management.”

The letter says that Chethan did not complete the in-school suspension and instead of discussing the matter with the school, we took matter to the police and the media.

The letter also stated that the school has received a showcause notice by the DEO, demanding an explanation as to why the case should not be forwarded to the higher authorities. There-fore the internal committee constituted by the school has recommended that Chethan should not attend the classes until the matter is resolved.

An official from the school said, “This is become a public case and Chethan will be confronted and questioned about it by his peers. It would be best if he does not attend the school.”

Meanwhile, Chethan’s parents alleged that their child is being targeted and he cannot be punished for their action of informing the authorities.

The district education officer of Hyderabad visited the school and informed them that a child cannot be held responsible for the differences between parents and the management.
