Tension at Bhadrachalam depots

At Khammam depot, workers led by RTC JAC tried to stop the buses leaving the depot.

Khammam: Tension prevailed at Khammam, Sattupalli, Kothagudem and Bhadra-chalam RTC depots with the striking workers trying to stop buses from entering.

At Khammam depot, workers led by RTC JAC tried to stop the buses leaving the depot. They staged dharna in front of the depot to halt the movement of the buses.

Police rushed to the spot and evicted the employees. The workers were forced to vacate the place where they have been staging for the last 32 days. Tension prevailed when leaders of the Left parties including Potu Ranga Rao and B. Hemantha Rao opposed the police action.

In Bhadrachalam, TRS leader and Bhadradri-Kothagudem zilla Gran-dhalaya Samsta chairman Mamidi Pulla Rao faced a bitter experience at the hands of RTC workers. Pulla Rao, who made negative comments to downplay the strike like ‘No rational in the RTC strike’ and “Workers are holding the strike without a cause” left the employees fuming in anger. They surrounded him and asked him to leave the place. Later, the workers ran after him for a long distance.

In Sattupalli, women of RTC raised slogans against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
