Shah Rukh Khan prays to Tirumala Venkateswara

TIRUPATI: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, accompanied by his wife Gauri Khan and daughter Suhana Khan, offered prayers at the renowned hill temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala on Tuesday.

The actor, clad in a traditional white kurta and pyjama, with a stole draped around his shoulders, participated in the sacred Suprabhata Seva, a predawn ritual performed inside the sanctum sanctorum.

After having darshan of the presiding deity, Shah Rukh Khan prayed at the Dwajasthambam inside the temple. Thereafter, he and his family reached Ranganayakula Mandapam, where priests bestowed Veda Ashirvachanam blessings on them and presented Teertha Prasadam.

In accordance with temple protocols, TTD authorities obtained from Shah Rukh Khan a signed declaration form affirming his belief in Tirumala’s presiding deity Lord Venkateswara. This practice is mandatory for non-Hindu visitors to the temple.

Shah Rukh Khan's visit to the temple comes ahead of the release of his much awaited movie “Jawan” produced by Gauri Khan. The film is scheduled for release on Thursday, September 7.

What added a twist to the top Bollywood star's visit is his hasty exit along with his family from the temple. They seemingly ran to their waiting vehicle.

Incidentally, other prominent film personalities, including Nayanathara and her husband Vignesh Shivan, also visited the temple on Tuesday.
