Rajender Reddy is new High Court public prosecutor

Hyderabad: The state government has appointed former chairman of Bar Council for United AP Mantheni Rajender Reddy as public prosecutor in the Telangana High Court for a period of three years. A practising advocate and Telangana Advocates JAC convener, Rajender Reddy was earlier a public prosecutor in Rangareddy district court for a decade from 1988.
Elected four times to the state Bar Council, he has been on the executive council of the National Law School, Bengaluru, and Nalsar University.
Rajender Reddy regularly organises legal literacy and legal aid programmes at the village level in Rangareddy, Nizamabad and Adilabad districts. Rajender Reddy took an active part in the statehood movement from 2009.
Meanwhile, outgoing public prosecutor C. Pratap Reddy has served continuously for nine years from 2014. During his tenure, he had assisted the High Court in disposing of 1,03,337 criminal cases, 13,063 criminal revision cases and other cases, totaling 1,22,973 cases.
