VKC Mammed Koya's major action plan projects yet to take off
KOZHIKODE: Some of the major projects introduced by former Kozhikode Corporation mayor VKC Mammed Koya when he assumed the office of mayor are yet to materialise even after nine months the new council takes charge. One of the major projects the punching system for corporation staff is still running on experimental basis. Another prestigious project City Consultative Committee also not moved an inch after their first meeting in April.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, deputy mayor Meera Darsak said that the KELTRON, the implementing agency, has not yet received complete data needed to implement the bio-metric punching system on full-scale. “We also required providing the staff with new ID cards to swipe. We hope that the Corporation can do it soon,” she said.
The City Consultative Committee which is the brain child of VKC Mammed Koya to discuss, formulate and find solutions for the overall development of the City, is also in an idle state after their first meeting in April. The Committee which includes people’s representatives, officials, political party leaders, experts from various fields and members from different walks of life, has not yet met despite there was a decision to form sub committees for various projects and issues.
