Viveka murder case: CBI court reserves order

HYDERABAD: The CBI court on Monday reserved its decision on a CBI petition seeking permission to conduct a ‘ninhydrin test’ to check for fingerprints on the letter purportedly written by Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy prior to his death. The order will be issued on Wednesday.

Earlier, the central forensic science laboratory in Delhi had stated that the letter was written by Vivekananda Reddy, albeit under pressure. The CFSL was not inclined to conduct the ninhydrin test as the chemical in it could damage the writing. The CBI court also adjourned the hearing in the bail petition filed by Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy, father of Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy, to Tuesday. Bhaskar Reddy has been in jail since April 16. The court also adjourned the plea of Dr Suneetha Narreddy, daughter of Vivekananda Reddy, who wanted to submit her contentions.
