SHE team adding strength
Hyderabad: The SHE teams of Cyberabad are reorganising, by increasing their number from four to seven, to address the rising number of complaints from women and also to monitor the nuisance created by persons in public places.
C. Anasuya, DCP, Admin-Incharge of SHE teams said, “We have received around 600 petitions from complainants in the first half of 2018 alone. To accommodate the spike in complaints lodged by women, we have added new teams to SHE, Cyberabad. We want to expand geographically so that we can reach out to as many people as possible.”
The team acted on all the 129 cases it received during May and disposed of them. It also conducted 103 decoy operations at various public places like malls, colleges and bus stops to keep a check on miscreants. The teams solved a case of stalking, in which a mother from Chandanagar approached them when a 19 year old boy kept harassing her 14 year old daughter on the pretext of being in love with her. The accused did not stop even after being warned by the minor’s mother, which made her approach the SHE teams for help.
The team also successfully solved a case where the accused, lived with the victim like a married couple without the knowledge of their parents, and also took money.
