Hyderabad: Rs 7.5-lakh spurious flour seized
Hyderabad: Special Operations Team of Balanagar zone raided a godown on Tuesday situated in Pet Basheerabad and nabbed one person for selling wheat flour in duplicate packets of well known brands. The team seized 650 bags of flour worth Rs 7.5 lakh.
Shanker Yadhav, Inspector of SOT, Balanagar zone identifies the accused as Thathireddy Indra Reddy, 50, who was arrested on Tuesday, and P. Anjaneyulu, 50, who is absconding.
“Both the accused collected low quality wheat flour from Nanded, Madhya Pradesh and other places and then packaged it into sachets with brand logo and name of an established FMCG brand with the help of automated machines. He sold these packets to retailers in the city, “ said the official.
The officials have also seized an automated flour packing machine worth Rs 30 lakh along with a goods van used to transport these packets to retailers.
