Malappuram: Man held for murdering three
MALAPPURAM: The police on Monday arrested one person in connection with the death of 28-year-old women and two children including an infant in Kadampuzha last week. They identified him as Muhammed Shareef, 38, of neighbouring Karippol village. The Valancheri inspector Sulaiman K.M., who is heading the investigation, said he had confessed to the crime. Umm Salma, son Dilshad, 7, and the infant were found dead inside their house at Thuvvupara near Kadampuzha on May 25. The bodies were in decomposed state when the police spotted them.
He said Ms Salma was leading a lonely life with her son after leaving her husband. She had an illicit relationship with the man who is married and father of three. “They were in an extramarital relationship for the last two years. Shareef had impregnated her also. It was the quarrel between them on going to a hospital for delivery which led to the murder,” Mr Sulaiman said. The mother and son were strangulated to death using a shawl and an injury made on her wrist to deceive the police. “The infant might be delivered after her death," he said.
