Alert put out for heavy rain by IMD in Telangana and AP

Maximum temperatures fell at many places over coastal AP and at a few places in Rayalaseema.

Hyderabad: A heavy rainfall warning was sounded on Sunday for all districts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh by the Indian Meteorology Department. The IMD said that thunderstorms accompanied by squalls was very likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of the two states till Tuesday.

In Telangana, light to moderate rainfall was witnessed at isolated places in Karimnagar, Khammam, Adilabad, Hyderabad, Warangal and Ranga Reddy districts.

Sarangapur in Karimnagar recorded 5c m rainfall. At many places in the state, the maximum temperature was recorded between 35-40ºC. The maximum temperature was recorded at 43ºC in Adilabad and Hanamkonda.

In Andhra Pradesh too, many places witnessed light to moderate rainfall. Visakhapatnam and Anakapalle recorded 5 cm rainfall each. Maximum temperatures fell at many places over coastal AP and at a few places in Rayalaseema.

At most places in the state it was recorded between 30-35ºC. The highest of 35ºC Celsius was recorded at An-antapur, Visakhapat-nam, Arogyavaram and Tuni.
