Vishakapatnam: Deputy Chief Minister Budi Mutyala Naidu paid rich tributes on occasion of Babu Jagjivan Ram’s 116th birth anniversary at Devarapalli in Anakapalle district on Wednesday.
Addressing a gathering, Mutyala Naidu said Jagjivan Ram’s ideals have inspired many leaders to serve the needy and poor, particularly those belonging to Dalit communities. He pointed out that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is one such leader, who has launched several welfare programmes for Dalits in the state.
In Visakhapatnam city, collector Dr. A. Mallikarjuna said Jagjivan Ram played a key role in development of the nation while holding several important portfolios.
Vizianagaram collector A. Surya Kumari appealed to students to follow the values cherished by the great leader.
