Almanac writers told to unearth hidden Grandhas in astrology

Famous Almanac writer Butte Veerabhadra Dyvazna said there is the need to unearth the hidden teachings in astrology

KAKINADA: Almanac writers have stressed the need for giving training to young astrologers in astrological sciences to enable them have a better grip on the subject.

The Akhila Bharata Jyothish Bhaskara Darshini organisation, led by its founder Chinta Gopi Sarma Siddanti, felicitated nearly 80 almanac writers in Kakinada on Tuesday.

Famous Almanac writer Butte Veerabhadra Dyvazna, who was felicitated at the event, said there is the need to unearth the hidden teachings in astrology. Young astrologers should read almanac properly and take its benefits to the society and impart the ancient knowledge.

Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham Asthana Siddanthi, Lakkavajjula Subrahmanya Sarma, said though there were differences in calculating the movements of planets, among almanac writers, they should stand together and sort out such matters.

Another Almanac writer Pallavjhula Ramakrishna requested almanac writers not to give so many muhurthams and should not bow down to compulsions from the people in fixing these.

Butte made it clear that astrology also should be modernised. But, Ramakrishna said this is a dangerous trend.

Almanac writers Sishtla Umamaheswara Sarma, Upadrashta Aditya, Tukaram Sarma, astrological researcher Purna Mohan, Bhavani Sankar and others were present.
